The Eva Solo Kitchen Scales have three parts. A metal cylinder with an angled top sits within a glass tube with a spring in it. Both the metal cylinder and the glass tube have measurements marked on them which measure the amount of liquid or the weight of a dry ingredient. A sturdy metal spring gets pushed down by the ingredients, thus indicating the weight of something.

The scales measure in metric, imperial and US measurements, all at the same time. They even have a 'zero' function; if you are adding a lot of ingredients turn the graduation ark back to zero and carrying on weighing without emptying the bowl. weighs up to a kilo.
