From the German perspective the opossum is a rare, exotic and interesting animal, a perfect name for a new design company specializing in the unique and interesting. Opossum design was founded in 1998 by Heike and Uwe Sinnig. At the beginning they started in a small garage, now they develop and produce new design gift articles, living and garden accessories in their own production area. Opossum design was an instant success and after 12 years they are available in over 25 countries worldwide at high end design stores and design museums. A small but interesting company competing against large design companies, they have loyally stayed true to their design principles, this has won them great respect in the industry and a large number of articles in design magazines.
