Orrefors Intermezzo Claret Glass
Erika Lagerbielke’s biggest glass success is undoubtedly Intermezzo, which, during the 2005 Year of Design, celebrated its 20th birthday.
The Intermezzo collection of glasses, each with an eye-catching blue drop suspended in the stem, has won the hearts of critics and consumers alike. It has also received the prestigious Swedish Excellence in Design award.
As Intermezzo products are constantly in demand, three newcomers make their début this autumn to grace the well-set dining table: a candle bowl, a balloon glass and a vase. Naturally, each features the characteristic blue drop that brings style and elegance to the collection.
This Claret glass is quite elongated. Its style mirrors the horizontal line of the blue drop and brings a lovely balance to the glass.
The stem of the Intermezzo range is slightly more chunky than in other Orrefors glassware, in order to accommodate the blue drop. The vibrancy of the colour contrasts well with the otherwise characteristically fine and elegant stem-ware.
