The Finnish design company Tonfisk Design came about as a response to what the founders' believed was a severe lack of truly creative, yet commercial design in the tableware sector. Tonfisk Design was formed in Helsinki in 1999, based on an ideology of creating new ideas without sacrificing values like clarity, functionality and personality.
The products were exceptionally successful and created a stir at their first trade fair in 2000, and have been much sought after by design aficionados and lovers of good quality ever since.
