Benedikt Family

The Benedikt & Friends world of figures displays the characteristic style of Rosemarie Benedikt, the Viennese artist and former Professor at the University of Applied Art in Vienna has already designed the successful “Animal Park” series of figures for Villeroy & Boch in the 1990s. At the centre of the new collection are the tomcat Benedikt, his wife Rosemarie and the two children Max and Lucy, all of whom display the style of subtle scurrility typical for Rosemarie Benedikt’s works. The porcelain figures in the “Benedikt Family” form a family of cats which has typical human characteristics. While tomcat Benedikt, who’s a real cat-about-town with a heart, is always portrayed with a fish and bow tie, the chic, yet actually down-to-earth cat Rosemarie, can’t be mistaken with her rose. Son Max represents the football fan whose head is full of nonsense, and daughter Lucy is intended as the playful baby of the family.
