The regalest Earl Grey style tea available. Carefully chosen tea leaves from the Darjeeling region delicately infused with natrual oil. If you look at the leaves in this blend you can see the lightly coloured tips.
The history of Earl Grey tea has been one of speculation for over a century. One of the claims is that it was created by accident. A ship transporting tea and bergamot oil had a an issue where the bergamot oil spilt onto the tea. Throwing out the tea would have been costly for the ships owner, Lord Grey. Therefore he taste tested the tea with a group of friends and they were impressed by the slightly bitter, citrus flavour. This was truly a fortunately accident if it was how Earl Grey tea was introduced to the market.
Directions
Warm the teapot and teacups
Use fresh water- better still use spring or filtered water
Water temperature 90c - Or boil the jug & let cool for about 5 mins
Use 1 tsp per teacup (200ml) - 1 heaped tsp per mug
Steep tea for 3 minutes - Can steep for up to 5 mins
If a stronger brew is required use more tea
This is a light and delicate tea. Do not add milk, sugar, honey or lemon.
