Often lovingly refered to as 'Pook'. The pukeko live in pemenant social groups and multiple pooks lay their eggs in one nest and raise the chicks as a group.

The pukeko was New Zealand Bird of the Year in 2011.

This decoration is made of fabric, sequins, beads, coloured and metallic threads. It is small and light enough to post put in a Christmas card.
