Description

Korowai is a prestigious cloak given to people of high rank. To be given and wear a korowai is an honor and is symbolic of obligation of care of the people and environment. The korowai is made of flax fiber (muka) with tassels (hukahuka), often of bird feathers. It takes months, if not years to make a korowai.  

The Korowai fairy was introduced in 2023. Flexible arms and legs with a gold cord for hanging. This fairy is part of a large evolving collection. You can build your selection over the years. 

Designed by a local Parnell lady with a passion for fairies and a great eye for color and materials.
