Description

The Tui loves to sing and is often the center of attention in the forest. One of the Tuis' favourite flowers is the kowhai, in spring when they over indulge on the kowhai they become drunk on the nectar and become quiet raucous! Tui play an important role in New Zealand forests because they are one of the most common pollinators of flowering plants, and the Tui disperse the seeds of trees with medium-sized fruits.

The Tui won New Zealand Bird of the Year in 2005. Voting is in apx October/November every year and is always an exciting and heavily competed contest.

The Tui sparkly decoration with peacock coloured back was introduced in 2019. It replaces the Tui with brown back which was introduced in 2018.

This decoration is made of fabric, sequins, beads and coloured metallic threads. It is nice and light for posting. If you need to send some for gifts we can do it for you.
