Designed in New Zealand by people with a love of New Zealand's beauty and lifestyle.
These NZ Bristle characters are handmade in the Philippines by artisans that individually craft each item. The wood beaks & feet are hand carved to shape. The bristle body is made from a renewable natural buri fibre which is strong, flexible and lightweight. The buri palm grows in abundance in southeast Asia and the local communities have passed down the weaving and craftmanship expertise of the buri fibre through generations. These skills contribute to the preservation of traditional knowledge and cultural heritage in the region.
